Chinese medical diagnosis is based on the belief that the body sends messages and gives clues to the origin or root of discomfort, illness and disease. We use a four pillar system to help us unravel critical information about your health, determine a diagnosis and set a treatment plan.
The four pillars are: Inspection, Inquiry, Listening & Smelling and Palpation.
We perform Chinese tongue diagnosis which assists us in our evaluation of your health and well-being. We also observe everything from your facial coloring, facial expressions, body language, the way you walk and talk and much more.
We feel areas on your arms and legs for tenderness and on your abdomen for temperature variations. We also take your pulse, observing the rate and the quality. We use the complex system of Chinese pulse diagnosis as tools to gather information about the status of your health.
Listening & Smelling
We listen not only to the words you say but they way you say them. The tone and volume of your voice and the sound of your breathing. We may also ask about certain smells, primarily your pee, poo and sweat and we might ask to smell you.
We ask tons of questions. How often do you get sick? How is your sleep? What foods do you crave or not crave? What is your pee and poo like? And many, many more.
